Season 5 Discussion... Contains Spoilers for 1-4 (5 as it airs)

In anticipation of the new season beginning in a few weeks here's the place to discuss all things new in Dexter's world.

So the new season begins. I really liked the new episode, we opened with poor Rita having been murdered and Dexter seemingly shocked.

I will miss Rita but I think in a way having a significant other around all the time would limit and has limited Dexter's habits. So is the slaying of Rita a good thing, we'll see.

I'm presuming Dexter didn't do it despite his repeated "It's my fault". Do we really believe Trinity got to Rita before Dexter got to him or is this the work of someone else. Rather specific injury she had so ...

Gawd, does Debra sleep with everyone. Boney ass chick eat a hamburger.

Is it me or does Quinn, (the actor, can't remember his name), seemed to have aged a bit this last year? I have a feeling he is going to be Dexter's next Doakes. Ohhh Desmond Harrington that's it.

It's too early to really see where we might be headed but it was a good episode.

Why can't you watch it? Usually about how long does it take for a link to be up for shows?

It was an error on the tv guide I use for the US they didn't show Dexter until the Sunday night.

So what did you think of the episode?

I liked it a lot more than the premiere (which I didn't hate by any means). I knew they were gonna get rid of the kids that way but I'm happy to see them go & glad they didn't rush it. I actually don't mind Quinn & Deb together. They're actually kind of amusing but man, I don't know what's gonna come of this whole Doakes-revival Quinn's rocking lately. I figure when he goes & talks to Jonah, Jonah will somehow end up covering for Kyle/Dexter. Not too sure about the mom & daughter, but he was the only one of the family who seemed to be the slightest proactive in the whole Arthur terror reign.

So do you think that nasty killing was gang related or part of what that cop was talking about?

Oh & how about creepy ass Shawn Hatosy? He doesn't seem very thorough in disposing of the bodies though, lol! I wonder if that's how Julia Stiles will be introduced, as a possible victim of his that Dex rescues or something.

I'm getting a bit bored with the Batista/La Guerta storyline, so hopefully they'll go somewhere cool with it.

I also totally LOL-ed at the brain matter falling on Masuka's shoulder! Maybe you shouldn't stand directly under something like that while you photograph it!

Ha, who totally called Julia Stiles's intro? Wonder what'll become of that whole thing. Judging from the previews... have no idea. Loved the little ITK reference about the fridge notes. Think anything is up with the new nanny?

Okay I don't understand any of this, what Julia Stiles and who is Julia Stiles. What does ITK mean? Was the nanny supposed to be Irish because she sounded weird to me.

I liked the old animal clean up guy, he definitely has more going on and in the preview I saw the girl running. I don't like Quinn becoming Doakes either I actually think thats kinda lazy.

Batista is becoming a little irritating to me, its as if he's become a different man since ge started with La Guerta.

I like Masuka, he's odd but I still think of him as Tang from Chuck.

The nanny was Irish but her accent was a bit weird, touch & go.

Hopefully they will put a different spin on Quinn so he doesn't become Doakes 2.0. And yeah, Angel & LaGuerta are beginning to bore me. This investigation storyline sounds like a waste of precious screentime.

Okay I haven't seen her in anything but I know her face, not just the show but I recognise her.

OMG you don't think Dexter will keep her and it will turn into the Stockholm Syndrome kind of thing? Or his next girlfriend? She's seen his face but his code says she's innocent.

I liked the new female cop working with Debra.

Do you think Jonah will cover for him? I hope so.

LOL, she was looking pretty rough there when you first see her. Almost didn't recognize her.

I don't know what he's gonna do. She definitely doensn't fit the code. The people I was watching it with said he should just take her somewhere random & far away, drop her off & say "Look, I saved your life. Now don't ever come looking for me or anything." My only problem with that is that when Boyd snatched her, there's a good chance she never has seen his face & thus thinks Dex is the one who did everything. Oh I don't know, we'll just have to wait & see...

I think Jonah will cover for him but I'm not so sure of the daughter & mother (if they even shoe up again)...

I guess Boyd could've worn a mask, she'd be terrified of Dexter anyway as she watched him murder another human being. For me the idea of leaving her somewhere is that Dexter doesn't leave anything to chance or loose ends. Will he start now?

Unless Dexter finds out Boyd chose her because she's done something dreadful, which in turn breaks his code. Didn't Boyd say "I was saving them".

Yup! & what was up w/those motivational tapes? I actually have a very loose theory but I won't discuss unless you want me to. I did with Dame earlier & she never even thought of it & was a little peeved cuz now she's gonna be looking for what I said in the upcoming episodes, lol.
